adoption information

a courageous and selfless choice

what is adoption?

Many people don’t know what adoption really is. While adoption is not an easy option, it is certainly a courageous and selfless one where you can choose a solid home life for your child. You're not giving up your child, but rather giving your child a chance at life.

If you feel you're just not ready to parent, adoption is an option that can provide you with peace of mind. There are three different adoption plans to choose from. As the birth mother, you are in the driver's seat for creating the plan that is best for you and your child.

Depending on your plan, you can also build a relationship with your child.  Regardless of which plan you choose, you are a precious part of their life’s story.

open adoption

Open adoption gives you the freedom to get to know the adoptive parents and have a relationship with your child.

You exchange contact information with the adoptive parents which enables you to have open communication through
texts, calls, emails or even personal visits with your baby if that’s what you choose.

semi-open adoption

Choosing a semi-adoption plan allows you to select the parents for your child but still retain your privacy.
You can receive letters and pictures of your baby which are sent through the agency you choose to help you manage your adoption plan.

confidential adoption

This adoption plan is available to birthparents who prefer remaining completely anonymous. The adoption agency of your choice helps by supporting you throughout your pregnancy and by selecting a family that is a good fit based on your wishes.

Your identity is protected before, during, and after the adoption is complete.

Regardless of which adoption plan you choose, Paulding Pregnancy Services’ Earn While You Learn program can also help to support you throughout your pregnancy. The items you earn, such as diapers, clothes, and a crib, can be gifted to the adoptive family as part of your plan.

Pregnancy Testing

Many home pregnancy tests claim to be accurate, but you may have concerns trusting the results. This pregnancy testing service is free, and you will be provided with the result during your appointment.

Medical Screening Before An Abortion

Since having a positive pregnancy test does not provide the full scope of information needed to obtain an abortion, you can meet with a nurse to receive all of the necessary details before scheduling an abortion.

Ultrasound

Your health is important. That is why we offer this service at no cost so you can know how far along you are, the location of your pregnancy, and if your pregnancy is viable. Only an ultrasound can provide these details about your pregnancy.
